Who We Serve

This help is available to individuals and families who live within the City of Shoreline.

The service area generally includes addresses:

  • North of North 145th Street
  • South of North 205th Street
  • Within ZIP codes 98133, 98155, and 98177
  • Not within the City of Lake Forest Park

Types of Help We Provide

Typical requests include help with:

  • Rent
  • Utility bills
  • Food
  • Other household needs

After an interview, the team will determine how best to help. A check of up to $300 may be mailed directly to a landlord or utility company.

Other help may also be available. Team members may discuss:

  • Family budgeting and ways to reduce expenses
  • Opportunities to increase income
  • Other changes that may reduce financial dependence
  • Referrals to additional community resources

We also offer to pray with anyone about concerns they may have.

What to Expect

Interviews are scheduled in advance by calling (206) 496-3116.

We are only on site when interviews have been scheduled. Interviews are generally held:

Tuesdays and Thursdays
9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m.

Phone interviews may be possible for people who cannot attend during those hours or who are unable to travel to the interview location.

We help with needs that we determine to be legitimate. Every person’s time is valuable, so please call in advance if your plans change.

Many clients have told us that being listened to, developing a plan, receiving referrals, and having someone pray for their concerns were more helpful in the long term than the financial assistance alone.

What to Bring

Clients are asked to provide the following:

  • Identification, such as a driver’s license
  • A list of average monthly household income
  • A list of average monthly household expenses for the last few months
  • The name, phone number, and address of the landlord, when requesting rental assistance
  • The current utility bill, when requesting utility assistance
  • The names and ages of household members

If you do not have a written budget, we can schedule a separate time to help create one before scheduling the interview.

All client information is confidential and is used only to determine how best to help the family. Records are stored securely and destroyed after three years.

What We Do Not Require

We do not require:

  • Clients to be Christian
  • Clients to attend a church
  • Social Security numbers

  • A utility shutoff notice
